Mission & Philosophy

"AI for the tasks the system made hard on purpose."

Privacy · Safety · Accessibility

Why these three

Most software optimises for engagement, retention, or revenue. We optimise for the user getting what they need and getting out. Our products serve people navigating systems that were designed to be confusing, exhausting, or hostile — often on purpose. That's the work. These three pillars are how we don't make it worse.

Privacy

Local-first by default.

  • All data stored locally (SQLite per user) unless you explicitly opt into sync
  • BYOK always available — no forced cloud dependency for AI features
  • No analytics without explicit opt-in
  • No tracking pixels, session recording, or fingerprinting
  • When a cloud option exists, the privacy cost is disclosed clearly before you enable it

Safety

Four layers — all required.

  • Data safety: Encrypted where possible, local by default, no third-party data brokers
  • Cognitive safety: No dark patterns. No urgency manipulation. Predictable behaviour every time
  • Vulnerable population safety: Every action is reversible. People in crisis don't get punished for mistakes
  • Physical safety: Sensitive information is never disclosed in applications without explicit user choice

Accessibility

Two dimensions — both required in every product.

  • Single-task focus per screen — no multitasking required
  • Plain language throughout — no jargon, no walls of text
  • No timers, no countdown pressure, no artificial urgency
  • Keyboard navigable, screen reader compatible
  • Clear progress indicators for every multi-step process
  • Error messages explain what happened and what to do next

Who we serve

Neurodivergent users — ADHD, autism, dyslexia, executive function challenges, anxiety — for whom high-stakes opaque paperwork is categorically harder.

People with disabilities navigating systems that were not designed for them, often under significant time pressure.

People in high-stress situations: job loss, housing instability, immigration, financial stress, chronic illness.

Privacy-conscious individuals who won't hand their data to surveillance capitalism in exchange for convenience.

Anyone who has ever given up on a form, a phone queue, or a bureaucratic process because it cost more than it was worth.

Neurodivergent and adaptive needs users are a primary audience for every CircuitForge product — not an afterthought. When prioritising features, the question is always: does this reduce friction for someone who is already depleted?
# Our Mission Privacy · Safety · Accessibility — co-equal, non-negotiable. > *"AI for the tasks the system made hard on purpose."* CircuitForge builds tools for people navigating systems that were designed to be confusing, exhausting, or hostile. We optimize for the user getting what they need and getting out.

What this means for product decisions

When evaluating any feature or design choice, three questions:

  1. Privacy: Does this introduce any new data exposure? If yes, is the user in control of it?
  2. Safety: Does this add pressure, confusion, or irreversibility? If yes, redesign.
  3. Accessibility: Does this work for someone with ADHD who hasn't slept well? If no, simplify.

If a feature fails any of these checks, fix it before shipping — not in the next sprint.
